I was born in Kanagawa (1989) and spent many years in Fukuoka, studying and conducting research at Kyushu University (QU), where I obtained my B.S. in Energy Science (2011, Prof. Jun-ichi Yamaki), and then continued in the graduate program of the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering and Science to complete my master’s and Ph.D. (2017, Prof. Shigeto Okada). After the master’s program, I joined Sony Energy Devices Corporation (SEND, formerly Sony Koriyama tech.), where I engaged in the development and design of lithium-ion polymer batteries for smartphones in the Product Development Division. During my doctoral studies, I became interested in electrochemical energy conversion and secondary batteries.
After finishing my Ph.D. in spring 2017, I moved to Kyoto University (KU) in the Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies. From 2017 onward, I joined Kyushu University, Institute for Materials Chemistry and Engineering (IMCE) as a Research Scientist, and concurrently held a position at the Elements Strategy Center for Catalysts & Batteries (ESICB) at Kyoto University as a center researcher. In those years, my research was largely focused on aqueous alkali‐ion batteries, ion–solvent interactions, and development of electrode materials.
In 2022–2023, I engaged in the Solid‐State Battery System Design industry–academia collaboration laboratory in the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University (KU), where I led projects on quasi‐solid and solid‐state battery systems with Sumitomo Chemical (SCC).
From 2024, I moved to Tokyo University of Science (TUS), joining the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Science, as an Assistant Professor. There, I continue to pursue research in battery chemistry, in particular focusing on water‐based anion‐conducting secondary batteries, sodium/potassium battery systems, and materials design for energy storage. I am currently conducting a research project under the JST PRESTO program.
